El-Rufai Is Boko Haram Commander, Calls Them Innocent Youths-Gen. Ihejirika

El-Rufai Is Boko Haram Commander, Calls Them Innocent Youths-Gen. Ihejirika –General Onyeabor Azubuike Ihejirika, the immediate past Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, has said that the
former Minister of FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai is a Boko Haram commander and fought against the purchase of sophisticated weapons for the Nigerian army.General Ihejirika made this statement after El-Rufai on Thursday August 28th 2014 accused him (Ihejirika) and the former Governor of Borno State, Modu Sheriff of being among the financiers of the Boko Haram sect.
Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, Ihejirika said El-rufai organized weaponry and equipments needed to fight terrorism from the military and gave them to the Boko Haram sect.
Ihejirika said: “The (Commanders) including El-Rufai know where the problem is. He should stop deceiving Nigerians by trying to divert attention”.
He further accused “The likes of El-Rufai have been supporting Boko Haram. In fact, El-Rufai and his likes are the same group of people that ensured the army did not get the requested equipment to deal with this menace once and for all, as they used their cohorts to tell the government that procuring modern equipment were not necessary”.
The General also said that when the military talked about the rising of a terrorist group in the country and made moves to attack, El-Rufai and his cohorts tried diverting attention from the activities of the sect, saying that the terrorists were innocent youths.
He said: “When the Boko Haram operation started, supporters of the sect like El-Rufai said that there was nothing like Boko Haram and that the army was just killing innocent youths’’.
“El-Rufai said that I was re-inventing the killing of the Ibos during the Biafra war following government’s determination to rid the country of terrorism.”
He went on to establish that he was the first person to declare that Nigeria was dealing with a war situation, but El-Rufai and others denied the seriousness of the situation, disagreeing with his findings. Now they have given Boko Haram the time to regroup and redevelop into a more formidable and destructive force in the country.
